You can sync with an Exchange Server with either Dataviz's Road Sync or Touchdown. I haven't used either. You can also sync you Android with desktop Outlook via USB using Companion Link for Android and an app called Deja Office.

I really like Snaptic (3 Banana Notes and AK Notepad) but I like Evernote a bit better and it completes the arc with a Windows desktop Sync as well as a cloud sync . Also, I like Evernote's Notebook feature.

We use GroupWise email at work, but I do not want to sync the GW calendar and address book to my phone. The address book size is overwelming and I don't use the GW calendar

There may be task apps that can do the same, or I think web based task sites like Toodledo and Remember the Milk can, and there are Android apps that can sync with those sites.
